After Hurricane Harvey hit, Texas was left with catastrophic damage. Many of its residents have faced extraordinary damage to their homes and possessions. However, the state has seen overwhelming support from many groups and individuals from across the country, including Ford Motor Company.
Ford Motor Company and its Texas dealers have organized a number of different ways to support victims of Hurricane Harvey. To begin with, Ford has donated $500,000 to groups such as The Salvation Army, American Red Cross, and Catholic Charities. Additionally, the Texas Ford dealerships organized a Cowboys-Texans telethon which allowed them to raise $200,000 in donations as of September 1st. These dealerships plan to raise another $1 million, which Ford will match.
Not only is Ford aiding the victims of Hurricane Harvey via financial relief, but the company has also created a “Texas is Family” program, offering special deals for families and employees impacted by the hurricane. Those who qualify will receive family and employee prices, low lease rates, and the benefit of zero payments until 2018. Ford hopes that this program helps families meet their immediate transportation needs in the wake of Harvey’s destruction.
