The Ford Edge has been one of the most fuel-efficient crossovers in its class for some time, but with the all-new 2.0-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine, its fuel economy is even more attractive. The 2012 Edge with EcoBoost has been rated 30 MPG city and 21 MPG.
The Edge’s 30 MPG highway give it the best fuel efficiency of all SUVs its size or larger. It will even receive more miles per gallon than some cars that happen to be much smaller. In addition, this rating makes the Edge one of 13 Ford vehicles that deliver 30 MPG or more. The others include the Escape Hybrid FWD and AWD, Fiesta 5-speed manual, Fiesta automatic, Fiesta SFE automatic, Focus 5-speed manual, Focus automatic, Focus SFE automatic, Fusion 2.5-liter automatic, Fusion Hybrid, Mustang 3.7-liter Coupe automatic, and Mustang 3.7-liter Convertible automatic.
Some other features, in addition to the EcoBoost engine, that make the Edge so fuel efficient include a unique 6-speed automatic transmission, variable-displacement air conditioning compressor, and active grille shutters that improve aerodynamics.
The 2012 Edge will arrive at Sanderson Ford later this year.
