Ford Motor Company Fund recently announced a new program they’re calling Operation Brighter Future to implement in Detroit in an effort to strengthen communities and support education summer jobs, and community needs. The program not only continues Ford’s efforts in the community, but also helps support other Michigan nonprofit organizations aimed at helping their communities.
The funding will go towards a collective of youth activities at the local recreation center, providing youth classes for arts, gymnastics, karate, swimming, and gymnastics. Ford hopes to not only support but also strengthen the communities that exist around them and provide them opportunities to thrive.
Operation Brighter Future will be accomplishing other things, including:
- Donation two F-Series chassis to be turned into new ambulances for the city of Detroit
- Support for the Greening of Detroit, which aims to turn abandoned sites into parks
- Funding the Detroit Summer Youth Employment program that provides training and work experience for youth between the ages of 14 and 21
This is a wonderful step forward in the process of not only bettering our cities, but the communities that make up those cities.
