The reception is open to the public and many special guests will attend, including Special Olympics athletes, Special Olympics Arizona CEO Tim Martin, Glendale City Vice Mayor Yvonne Knaack, Glendale Police Department Police Chief Black, and Glendale Council members.

Ford’s Operation Brighter Future Invests $10 Million in Detroit Neighborhoods

Ford Motor Company's Operation Bright Future - Ford.com

Ford Motor Company Fund recently announced a new program they’re calling Operation Brighter Future to implement in Detroit in an effort to strengthen communities and support education summer jobs, and community needs. The program not only continues Ford’s efforts in the community, but also helps support other Michigan nonprofit organizations aimed at helping their communities.

The funding will go towards a collective of youth activities at the local recreation center, providing youth classes for arts, gymnastics, karate, swimming, and gymnastics. Ford hopes to not only support but also strengthen the communities that exist around them and provide them opportunities to thrive.

Operation Brighter Future will be accomplishing other things, including:

  • Donation two F-Series chassis to be turned into new ambulances for the city of Detroit
  • Support for the Greening of Detroit, which aims to turn abandoned sites into parks
  • Funding the Detroit Summer Youth Employment program that provides training and work experience for youth between the ages of 14 and 21

This is a wonderful step forward in the process of not only bettering our cities, but the communities that make up those cities.

Sanderson Ford Sponsors the 11th Annual Operation Santa Claus

Sanderson Ford has partnered with ABC15 for the 11Th Annual Operation Santa Claus charity drive.  The drive is an effort to give every child the Christmas they deserve, and gives those who donate the opportunity to give back and maybe even win a new car for themselves.

“The problem of meeting the needs of the less fortunate has become even more challenging given the current economic situation,” said Max Sirstins of Sanderson Ford and Sanderson Lincoln. “More families than ever before are seeking assistance and support from human service organizations struggling to meet the demand. We want to make a big difference and help as many people as possible through Operation Santa Claus.”

During Operation Santa Claus, those interested in helping out are asked to donate new, unwrapped toys, children’s clothing items, packaged food or a monetary donation to help those in need.  Donations can be dropped off at any Sanderson dealership, or at any of the Operation Santa Claus events.  For a listing of events and drop off points, visit http://givetotheclaus.com/events.htm.

For each donation, you will be entered into a drawing for the chance to win your choice of an all new 2013 Lincoln MKZ or a new Ford F-150 Super Crew EcoBoost.  Two finalists will be drawn every Wednesday morning on Sonoran Living on ABC15.

If you are ready to drop off a donation or want to learn more, visit us in Glendale!

The High Five Tour Comes to Sanderson Ford

The High Five Tour is stopping by Sanderson Ford! For the second year in a row, we will play host to the 2012 Shelby Mustang GT-500 “Super Snake” that is currently on a road trip around the country to give thanks and help raise awareness for Wounded Warrior Family Support.  The tour will be here Tuesday, September 25, from 5-9 PM.

Wounded Warriors Family Support was founded by John D. Folsom, Colonel, United States Marine Corps, Reserve (Ret.), with the mission to “provide support to the families of those who have been wounded, injured, or killed during combat operations. The families of our casualties suffer in many ways, some financially, some psychologically.”

The organization helps support these families by providing a retreat where they can once again find peace and solace as a family.  They also financially support marriage counseling programs and partner with Take Flight Farms, a non-profit that provides equine therapy programs.

The High Five Tour is a 48-state road trip that gives Wounded Worrior Family Support the opportunity to personally thank those who have contributed to the organization, as well as raise awareness for their purpose.  You can show your support and donate to Wounded Warrior Family Support by coming to our dealership during the High Five Tour’s stop and donating $5. If you are unable to see the High Five Tour in action, you can also contribute by texting “highfive” to 20222.

During the tour stop, wewill also be welcoming residents to join in a cruise-in car show.  The Mustang Club will be in attendance and entertainment will be provided. Hope to see you out here!
