Ford Developing Fully-Automated Parking Technology

1964 Ford GT40

Fully-Automated Parking TechnologyFord Motor Company has recently revealed details on a new technology that will change the way we park forever. The new fully-automated parking technology could potentially allow drivers to park their Ford with the push of a button!

“Parking in today’s cities can be stressful and difficult,” explains vice president of Product Development at Ford of Europe, Barb Samardzich. “We want to make it as easy, efficient and accurate as possible – and that means exploring new concepts and approaches.”

Fully Assisted Parking Aid, while currently only developed as a prototype, controls vehicle steering, gear selection, forward and reverse motion. Ultrasonic sensors used in the system would be able to detect a suitable parking space. Once in neutral, the Full Assisted Parking Aid system takes control and parks with ease.

Can you image? Not having to worry about parking too close from the line, too far from the curb, plus not ever thinking about parallel parking again? Watch the video below to see Fully Assisted Parking Aid in action and keep in touch with Sanderson Ford for the latest details.

Ford Unveils New S-Max Concept

Ford

Ford Motor Company has recently released a new concept that breaks away from the standard minivan. The S-Max Concept basically takes the popular Ford C-Max and adds room for 7 passengers, making it one of the most unique Sport Activity Vehicles on the market.

“When Ford unveiled the SAV- sport activity vehicle- Concept in 2005 it immediately captured the public’s imagination and inspired us to produce today’s S-Max, a true white space vehicle,” explains Ford of Europe product development vice president, Barb Samardzich. “Our new S-Max Concept takes that unique appeal to the next level with Ford’s latest design and technologies for a new generation.”

Powering the all-new S-Max Concept is Ford’s 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine, capable of returning 178 horsepower and 177 lb-ft. of torque; impressive for such a small engine. The cabin of this SAV is lined with premium materials, featuring a lineup of Ford’s latest infotainment technology including Sync and MyFordTouch for the ultimate driving experience.

The all-new S-Max non-minivan is not expected to hit the market for  quite some time, but until then keep an ear out for more information on features, prices and release dates. Until then, check out this video highlighting the innovative new concept from Ford.

Ladies Love the Ford Fiesta

Ford Fiesta wins the Women's World Car of the Year award this year.

Ford has recently announced that their popular 2013 Ford Fiesta 1.0-liter EcoBoost has been named the 2013 Women’s World Car of the Year. A panel of 18 female automotive writers from around the world voted the Fiesta to take home the coveted award this year  due to its appearance, safety, value, child friendliness and several other criteria that women utilize when shopping for a new car.

Judges found that women love the bold, new exterior of the Fiesta on top of the interior boasting comfort, convenience and space. For parents out there, the new Fiesta features Ford MyKey, and industry-first technology that allows parents to monitor teenage driving by limiting speed and audio abilities.

Oh and we should probably mention that the 2012 and 2014 International Engine of the Year powers this revolutionary Ford Fiesta as well.

“The new Fiesta has raised the bar to offer a sharper-looking, better-connected car that is even more fuel efficient and fun-to-drive,” states vice president of Product Development in ford of Europe, Barb Samardzich. “By turning into the needs of all our customers we are ensuring this small car with the big history has a very bright future.”

Ford will proudly accept this award at the fifth-annual Women’s World Car of the Year Awards this October.
