The 2013 Green Car of the Year did not win because it’s a hybrid or electric vehicle; it won because it’s both of these things. It’s also a traditional, gasoline-powered sedan. This powertrain variety was a major factor in the 2013 Ford Fusion’s nomination for the green car award.
Other nominees included the Ford C-Max and Toyota Prius C, but the Fusion pulled away with the win thanks to its eco-friendly options that do not take away from the joy of driving. The hybrid model returns 47 MPG city/highway while the gas-powered sedan, available with an EcoBoost I-4 engine, receives 33 MPG highway.
The 2013 Fusion received its Green Car of the Year title at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The sedan is currently available here at Sanderson Ford in its Hybrid and EcoBoost trims.
