Every year, independent organizations and publications give awards to the best vehicles in the automotive industry. Some of the most prestigious honors come from the North American International Auto Show in the form of Car, Truck, and Utility of the Year. For 2021, the all-new Ford F-150 and the Mustang Mach-E earned the titles of North American Truck and Utility of the Year.

The Ford F-150 last won this award in 2015 and 2009. Other recent Ford winners include the Ford Explorer in 2011 and the Ford Transit Connect and Ford Fusion Hybrid in 2010.

With its complete redesign, the F-150 now enters its 14th generation. Some of its new features include an available hybrid powertrain, the Pro Power Onboard generator system, and new advanced technology. It also boasts impressive towing capabilities.

As for the Mustang Mach-E, this is the latest in a series of awards for this innovative electric vehicle. It was recently named the Best Car to Buy in 2021 by The Car Connection and Green Car Reports. It has also been named Edmunds Top Rated Luxury EV. Both the Mustang Mach-E and F-150 were also named the 2021 Green Car and Truck of the Year by Green Car Journal.

The North American Truck and Utility of the Year awards are among the most coveted in the industry, and few brands can claim to win both of them in the same year. Check out the award-winning F-150 and Mustang Mach-E at Sanderson Ford in Glendale, AZ!

Ford is ramping up its safety features with the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E and the 2021 Ford F-150, offering a new hands-free driving system. Available Active Drive Assist is scheduled to arrive in the third quarter of 2021, offering advanced and real-time safety features that allow for semi-autonomous driving. On select divided highways, you’ll be able to drive completely hands-free, helping you enjoy the experience more.

The intelligent Active Drive Assist uses computer, camera, and radar systems to let you drive in hands-free driving zones. Ford will offer the technology on over 100,000 miles of North American roads to start with plans to expand its Hands-Free Zones in the future.

“As breakthroughs in new technology allow us to help reduce the stress of long highway drives, it’s important to make sure these capabilities can be enjoyed by the largest spread of people possible,” said Hau Thai-Tang, the chief product platform and operations officer at Ford Motor Company. “Active Drive Assist can help improve the driving experience while ensuring people remain aware and fully in control.”

At the outset, Active Drive Assist will be available on the 2021 Ford F-150 and all-new Mustang Mach-E. Mustang Mach-E Frunk Makes for Epic Tailgating Season

2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E

If you want to have an epic tailgating season, you’ve got to start planning early. Luckily there’s a new tool perfect for those who love sports cars as much as they love football. The new Mustang Mach-E is the all-electric muscle car that has it all: zero emissions, striking, sporty design, an agile, thrilling ride, and a frunk. What’s a frunk you ask? It’s a front trunk, and a versatile one at that.

The Mustang Mach-E frunk has 4.8 cubic feet of plastic space, which is the same amount of space as you’ll find in a 36-gallon cooler. We point this out because this frunk is drainable, and therefore perfect for using in place of a large cooler. The next time you’re setting up for a tailgate party on a game day, you can serve your chilled beverages and snacks straight from the Mustang Mach-E frunk.

There’s lots of room for creativity here, and so many ways to put the frunk to use and upgrade your tailgating game. Pack it with ice and use it to keep beverages or perishable snacks cold, then let it drain on its own after the party. You could also fill it with warm snacks — Ford suggests chicken wings — and simply hose away the mess when you’re home.

There’s a lot more to love about the new Mustang Mach-E than just its frunk. Learn more about the upcoming electric SUV at Sanderson Ford.
