Third Ford EcoBoost Challenge Launches in March

When you get behind the wheel, that’s when the magic happens. That’s when passive car shoppers turn into passionate vehicle owners. Sure, the facts and figures play a role in choosing your next vehicle, but when it just feels right to be in the driver’s seat, that’s often the moment that sells the car. That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch of the third Ford EcoBoost Challenge next month.

The Challenge will provide current Ford owners and potential consumers with the opportunity to test drive some of the most popular models in the automaker’s lineup. Participants can register for a time slot to experience the all-new Ford Edge and Expedition as well as the Escape, Fusion Hybrid, and Transit Connect Wagon. Even the famed all-new F-150 and Mustang models will be on hand for attendees to take for a spin.

In addition, participants can sign up for lessons in driving a manual vehicle when they register. Among those registered to attend the event, one winner will be chosen to receive a brand new Ford Edge.

“With EcoBoost engines now available across 100 percent of our U.S. light-duty lineup, the EcoBoost Challenge lets consumers experience this innovative technology that helps Ford deliver better fuel economy with a more engaging driving experience than the competition,” said Michele Bartlett, group marketing manager for Ford’s large cars and SUVs. “Not only is the EcoBoost Challenge a lot of fun, but getting people in the driver’s seat is the best way for them to experience the craftsmanship, innovation and performance of the Ford lineup.”

The Challenge will tour 17 cities across the United States, beginning in Miami on March 7th and ending at Phoenix’s WestWorld on May 2nd.

If you don’t want to wait until May, we would love to take you for a drive here at Sanderson Ford.

Ford Trumps Competition in the EcoBoost Challenge

EngineIn order to prove the power of the Ford EcoBoost engine over its competitors, Ford recently launched the Ford EcoBoost challenge. In the challenge, non-Ford drivers were given the opportunity to compare the engines to those of competitors, and the results overwhelmingly favored Ford, thanks to their revolutionary technology.

During the EcoBoost challenge, drivers who do not currently drive a Ford vehicle were given the opportunity to drive a Ford vehicle and its competitor through an obstacle course, after which, they were questioned about the performance of each.  Drivers who compared the Ford F-150 with EcoBoost to the Chevrolet Silverado almost unanimously favored the Ford truck.

Now that the comparisons are over, Ford buyers can take advantage of the findings by purchasing select new Ford vehicles with 0% APR financing for 60 months plus Challenge cash.  To check out these deals, and videos of all of the EcoBoost Challenge contestants, visit http://www.fordspecialevent.com/ecoboostchallenge/.

EcoBoost 2013 Ford Explorer Offers Best-in-Class Fuel Economy

The 2013 Ford Explorer is set to debut with best-in-class fuel economy, thanks to Ford’s revolutionary EcoBoost technology.

Powered by a 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine, the 2013 Explorer returns 16 mpg city and 22 mpg highway, which ranks it 3 mpg city and 2 mpg highway better than its nearest competitor.  Don’t think that best-in-segment fuel rankings take away from performance, because that is the beauty of EcoBoost technology.

The 2013 Explorer’s EcoBoost engine generates 365 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque, enough power to tackle any job.  The seven-passenger Explorer also boasts a six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with paddle shifters for increased driving dynamics and control.

Ford also delivers drivers with the technology they crave in the 2013 Explorer.  The 2013 Ford Explorer is equipped with SYNC with MyFord Touch which allows the driver to control just about everything in the vehicle with just the sound of their voice.  From making phone calls and selecting music to controlling the climate of the vehicle, this Explorer listens and delivers.

The 2013 Ford Explorer will also be available with other new technologies including, active park assist to aid in parallel parking, a Sony Premium Audio System with HD Radio and advanced navigation.

2012 Explorer EcoBoost Receives 28 MPG

Last week, we told you all about the 2012 Ford Edge with EcoBoost receiving 30 MPG.  Now, we bring you more good news!  The 2012 Explorer SUV, last year’s North American Truck of the Year, will also be available with the EcoBoost engine and is expected to achieve 28 MPG.

With the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine, the Explorer has received an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 20 city/28 hwy MPG.  The real benefit of the EcoBoost engine is that consumers do not have to sacrifice power to achieve great fuel economy.  A gasoline injection, twin independent variable camshaft timing, and a unique 6F35 6-speed automatic transmission allow the Explorer to output 240 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque while still receiving class-leading fuel efficiency.

Sport Utility Vehicle used to be synonymous with gas guzzler, but not anymore.  Ford, along with the EcoBoost engine, is changing the way we think of SUV fuel economy.

2012 Edge EcoBoost to Achieve 30 MPG

The Ford Edge has been one of the most fuel-efficient crossovers in its class for some time, but with the all-new 2.0-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine, its fuel economy is even more attractive.  The 2012 Edge with EcoBoost has been rated 30 MPG city and 21 MPG.

The Edge’s 30 MPG highway give it the best fuel efficiency of all SUVs its size or larger.  It will even receive more miles per gallon than some cars that happen to be much smaller.  In addition, this rating makes the Edge one of 13 Ford vehicles that deliver 30 MPG or more.  The others include the Escape Hybrid FWD and AWD, Fiesta 5-speed manual, Fiesta automatic, Fiesta SFE automatic, Focus 5-speed manual, Focus automatic, Focus SFE automatic, Fusion 2.5-liter automatic, Fusion Hybrid, Mustang 3.7-liter Coupe automatic, and Mustang 3.7-liter Convertible automatic.

Some other features, in addition to the EcoBoost engine, that make the Edge so fuel efficient include a unique 6-speed automatic transmission, variable-displacement air conditioning compressor, and active grille shutters that improve aerodynamics.

The 2012 Edge will arrive at Sanderson Ford later this year.
